Western Riding
Western vs. English Riding
Western riding is a style used by working cowboys in the United States, Canada, Central and South America. Also used for pleasure and endurance riding. The Western Saddle encourages the rider to adopt a more comfortable seat and leg position for long rides.
Western riding classes emphasis several maneuvers including controlled, collected flying lead changes.
The Western Saddle is distinguished by a large fork on which is placed a horn, a high cantle, and large skirts.
